Compiled from the published works of the late R. Hansford Worth and edited by G. M. Spooner and F. S. Russell. First published in 1953 by the executors of Worth's will, and reissued by David & Charles in 1967 with a new introduction by Spooner (523 pages). The contents run from the physical geography and granite of Dartmoor through hut-circles, pounds, barrows and kistvaens, stone rows, circles and menhirs, to the stannaries, blowing-houses, tenants and commoners, tracks and guide-stones, the Dartmoor house and place-names, with appendices including Dartmoor railroads.
