J. S. Downing Butchers

J & S Downing has been a family butchers since 1989, with shops on Pepper Street in Tavistock and Fore Street in Bere Alston. They rear their own cattle on land at Brentor on the edge of Dartmoor, supplemented by meat sourced from local Devon farms. All meat is kept free from preservatives and customers can reserve specific cuts or arrange custom slaughtering and butchering of their own livestock.

They offer free delivery within a 10-mile radius of Tavistock on orders over £20, with regular deliveries to Plymouth, Saltash and Callington areas. You can order online, collect in person, or call 01822 819759 with any requests. The shop stocks bacon, gammon, beef, lamb, pork, poultry, sausages and cooked foods.
