Fortescue Arms

East Allington, South West England

The Fortescue Arms is a characterful 19th-century inn nestled in the South Hams village of East Allington, named after the local landowning family. Stone-flagged floors, beamed ceilings and an open fireplace set the scene for cooking that changes with the seasons, built around locally sourced and homemade produce. Owners Adrian and Ian — who between them bring over 25 years of hospitality experience — have maintained the pub's traditional spirit while elevating the food offer. Outside there is a spacious beer garden, and the surrounding South Hams countryside makes it a fine base for exploring both the coast and the southern edge of Dartmoor.
