Round cairn near Great Nodden

This round cairn sits on the high moorland south-west of Great Nodden, one of many such monuments scattered across Dartmoor. Built during the Bronze Age, it likely served as a burial mound or ceremonial marker for communities living on or regularly using the moor. The cairn would originally have been more prominent, constructed from stones gathered from the surrounding granite landscape.
