Cairnfield near White Hill

This cairnfield lies on the western slope of White Hill, part of the dense scatter of Bronze Age monuments that cover Dartmoor's moorland. The site consists of burial cairns and ritual stones, evidence of sustained activity on the moor during the Bronze Age when this high ground held significant meaning for the communities who built and maintained these structures.

Today the cairns remain as low stone mounds visible across the moorland, weathered but persistent markers of ancient use. The site offers insight into how prehistoric people organized their sacred and burial landscapes across Dartmoor, clustering monuments on particular hills and ridges that commanded views across the moor.
