Two hut circles near the Ordnance Survey triangulation pillar on Cox Tor

On the eastern slopes of Cox Tor, near the Ordnance Survey triangulation pillar, lie the remains of two stone hut circles and an associated enclosure. These structures date to the Bronze Age, when the higher ground of Dartmoor supported a more extensive population than it does today. The hut circles, marked by low stone walls, are typical of the domestic settlements that scattered across the moor during this period.

The site sits within a landscape dense with prehistoric remains.
