Round cairn 700m south-west of Great Nodden

This round cairn stands on Dartmoor's high open ground, roughly 700 metres south-west of Great Nodden. Like many of Dartmoor's cairns, it dates to the Bronze Age, when communities built these stone mounds as burial monuments or ritual markers across the moor. The structure remains as a low mound of stone, testament to both its ancient builders and the landscape's relative stability over millennia.
Today the cairn sits in the moorland setting it has occupied for thousands of years, part of the dense archaeological heritage that characterises this part of Dartmoor.
