Round cairn near Sharpitor

This round cairn sits on the open moor north-east of Sharpitor summit, a classic Bronze Age monument built as a burial marker or ritual site. Like many cairns scattered across Dartmoor, it reflects the importance of the high ground to prehistoric communities, who used these prominent stones to mark significant places in the landscape.
