Platform cairn 60m north of Raddick Hill summit

This platform cairn sits on open moorland 60 metres north of Raddick Hill summit, a scheduled monument from the Bronze Age. Platform cairns are thought to have served ritual or ceremonial purposes, possibly as burial monuments or focal points for communal gatherings on the high moor. The structure reflects the long history of human settlement and belief on Dartmoor during prehistory.

Today the cairn remains as a low stone mound in the upland landscape, part of the dense scatter of Bronze Age monuments across this stretch of the moor. For walkers crossing the high ground, it offers a tangible connection to the people who inhabited and shaped Dartmoor thousands of years ago.
