Agglomerate enclosure near Raddick Hill

This is a Bronze Age settlement lying on open moorland southwest of Raddick Hill. The site comprises seven stone hut circles arranged around an agglomerate enclosure, the remains of a community that lived and worked on Dartmoor in prehistory. The hut circles are the foundations of round dwellings, their stone footprints still visible in the turf.

Today the site sits on the exposed moor, part of the scattered pattern of ancient settlement that gives the high ground its particular character. The stone circles and enclosure are modest in scale but significant in revealing how people used this landscape thousands of years ago. A scheduled monument, the site rewards slow walking and close attention to the moorland terrain.
