Tavy Cleave Tors

Devon

Tavy Cleave Tors sits on the western edge of Dartmoor, overlooking the deep valley of the River Tavy. The granite outcrops here are characteristic of the moor's weathered peaks, shaped by the moorland climate and rising from rough grassland and heather.

The approach follows the high ground above the cleave, with views westward across the Tavy valley towards the softer landscape beyond the park boundary. It is a walk that rewards attention to the granite underfoot and the scale of the river's work below. The tors mark a good vantage point on a less crowded part of the moor.
