Belstone Common Tor

Devon

Belstone Common Tor is a modest outcrop of moorland granite set on the open common that gives it its name. At 460 metres, it commands views across the northern moor and serves as a natural focus point on the heath, though it lacks the dramatic rockwork of Dartmoor's more celebrated peaks.

The tor sits on accessible moorland with good walking approaches from nearby Belstone village and the common itself. It is a natural waypoint for those exploring the quieter northern reaches of the moor, offering a genuine sense of open country and the characteristic granite bones of Dartmoor without the crowds of more famous summits.
